Why We Why We Item Upgrading (And You Should, Too!)
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats like crit chance, attack damage PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of their base. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are very lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their stats. This will increase the defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu using the arrows that are circling. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in cold environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with friends.
You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give a temporary effect. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. In addition the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to the potions.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion used and the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the way potions are used. For example, splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display). The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same applies to the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions' effect is extended by adding redstone. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to a small ornament or object that has a purpose but isn't important, like a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. One can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. item upgrading will have the same base level as the old trinket, however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear, and then other equipment that they will not replace anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). When deciding the items to upgrade, players must also consider the class's preferred stats. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it is saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
